OARS training Inc., is a Training and Development Consulting firm operating from Nanaimo British Columbia.
OARS is also a systems approach for assessing and calibrating learning and training environments. OARS was founded by Louise Nichol in 1999 in response to a need for workplace programs addressing literacy, essential skills and the recognition of prior learning. Over a ten year period, teams of consultants completed approximately 100 training and development projects, in more than 50 workplaces.
Projects have been designed and implemented for an assorted list of clients ranging from the private corporate sector, public government agencies, educational organizations, labour unions and a variety of culturally diverse communities. This work has netted a repertoire of products designed to establish and maintain the "perfect fit" of worker to job. Several of the products developed are available for download under the

Transition and evolution have occurred within OARS many times during the past decade. Projects became more complex and larger. Stakeholder relationships and partnerships expanded and countless opportunities were presented to refine human resource products and processes. While gaining solid Practitioner experience, Louise has worked steadily to achieve the academic training and education developing her voice of scholarly authority.
Louise relocated OARS training Inc to Nanaimo BC in the spring of 2007 following completion of her Masters in Leadership and Training at Royal Roads University, Victoria BC. In 2008 & 2009 she successfully completed the Canadian Human Resource Professional designation, CHRP and began a Doctoral program in Human and Organizational Systems at Fielding Graduate University, Santa Barbara California.
During the transition process and the completion of the PhD, Louise will only be available for a limited number of projects. The dissertation focus is on "the way we employ people in Canada", check out "e-updates" of current research projects and the journal entries and draft papers of the doctoral student.
